STETSON - Allen Cutler Brown, Jr., 83, passed away on February 8, 2023 at home in Stetson with his loved ones by his side. He was born April 10, 1939 in Stetson, a son of Allen and Eleanor (Killiam) Brown. He graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1958.
Allen is survived by his wife J. Elaine Brown of 63 years; his 4 children and their spouses, Brenda and Lee Fogler, Bruce and Suzanne Brown, Brent and Staci Brown, Barry and Judy Brown, Sr.; his sister Jessie Walls; sisters-in-law and spouses Sharon and John Treadwell, Barbara and Doug Tibbetts, Gail and Barry Ryan; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his sister Jennette Saulnier, brother Clayton Brown and grandson Cody Brown. He worked for Friend & Friend Oil Co., James Smith Construction, Lloyd Pierce Trucking and recently Stonyvale Farm until October of 2022. He was one of the original members and still was a member of the Sebasticook Valley Snowmobile Club. He was involved with Exeter and Corinna Masons and many other organizations in the Stetson area. He enjoyed many activities; his camp in Elliotsville Plantation, snowmobiling in Maine and Canada, four-wheeling in Maine, moose and deer hunting with his sons and friends, and lately, camping with his daughter and son-in-law. One of his greatest memories was going to Alaska and catching a salmon, and his recent bus trip with Elaine to Newfoundland.
He will be greatly missed by his dog Bailey, and by all that knew him and his stories. A special thank you to his sister Jessie for her invaluable help. There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, May 20th at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter. Services are by Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, Newport. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Stetson Historical Society, 257 Stetson Road, Stetson, ME 04488.
