DEXTER- Anita G. Colomy, 65, died May 13, 2017 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, following a long illness. She was born in Providence, RI, February 12, 1952, the daughter of Edward and Dorothy (Sansbury) Jaques Sr.

She graduated from the Community College of Rhode Island and Emmanuel College in Boston. On June 20, 1987 she married Les Colomy and moved to Dexter in September 2001. She loved her children, grandchildren, and her church family. Her favorite memories included camping, and caring for her flower gardens. She was very proud of her real estate license and loved helping people get their first home. She was active in the town working as the town Tax Assessor, and was a member of the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Dexter.

She is survived by her husband, Leslie "Les" Colomy of Dexter; 4 children, Michael Colomy and Nicholas Colomy, both of Dexter, Jeremy Schobel Sr. and his wife, Nicole of Garland, and Dina Lee Ford of Unity; a brother, Edward Jaques and his wife, Linda of RI; grandchildren, Jeremy Schobel Jr., Nathan Schobel, Caleb Schobel, William Slaughter II, Shelby Lee Slaughter, Brandon Hargis, and Tanya Ford; great grandchildren, Bridgette Rancourt, and Hennessy Miller.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a sister, Marion Bean.

Friends may call Monday May 22, 2017, at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Dexter from 11 AM until noon, followed by a funeral service at noon with Pastor George Dever officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter.
