Ann M. Swigart, 70, of Dexter, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 26, 2025, in Pittsfield.
She was born on March 24, 1955, in Bristol, Connecticut, the daughter of Ranson Watson and Vera Bookas.
Ann spent 42 years married to her former husband, Shaird Shaike. Throughout her life, she was known for her caring nature and dedication to helping others. She worked for many years as a housekeeper in hospitals throughout Florida, served as an EMT, and most recently was employed as an EKG technician.
Ann had a deep appreciation for her Native heritage and loved taking part in powwows. She also enjoyed camping, sewing, and exploring the paranormal. A devoted follower of Wicca, she found peace and meaning in her spirituality. She loved horror movies and had a special bond with her dogs—Sasa Wii, who predeceased her, and Holkie, her loyal companion.
She is survived by Mark Borden of Dexter, David Tenney of Dexter, Rose Horan of Dexter, Frankie Bouton of Florida, Tammi Tittle and her son Jacob of Florida, and Alex and Tommy Fetcher and their son Riku of Chelsea.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ranson Watson and Vera Bookas, and her former husband, Shaird Shaike.
Ann will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, compassion, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her.
