HARTLAND - Armas Mahonen, 72, died February 4, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 21, 1946 in Rockland, a son of Armas and Viola (Nickerson) Mahonen, Sr. He served in the United States Air Force and later, the Army, during the Vietnam War. Armas was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was a self-employed junk dealer, specializing in copper, silver and other precious and ferrous metals.

He is survived by 3 daughters, Jennifer Mahonen of MA, Ailie Mahonen and Siiri Mahonen, both of Hartland; 2 sisters, Gloria Beck of NH, and Peggy Nelson of Cushing; many nieces and nephews.

Graveside committal services will be held at a later date at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Cushing.
