Bill Edward "Eddie" Bingham passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 17, 2019. His life partner, Linda Sanborn, was by his side. The son of Charles and Myrtle (Hill) Bingham (later, Hathorne), he was born December 9, 1941 in Gausdale, Kentucky. After his father's death, he moved to Parkman with his mother and siblings while he was still a young child.
He graduated from Piscataquis Community High School, class of 1961. He worked for construction companies during his high school years and went on to become an edge trimmer for several local shoe companies until retirement.
A talented hobbyist, he was well-known for his excellent carpentry and woodworking, which was a lifelong passion, as well as for his photography. A gamesman, he also enjoyed fishing in his boat on Lake Wassookeag and hunting, both with bow and with rifle. He often went hunting with his brothers, Milton and Robert. He enjoyed music, and was skilled with the guitar. He enjoyed playing at his church, the local nursing home and for his family until a hand injury made it difficult for him to play.
He was a beloved father. He is missed beyond all words or measure by those who loved him.
He is survived by his brothers Robert Bingham and Steve Hathorne; his sisters, Joyce Ellis and Albina (Faye) Clement; by his four children, Sonja and husband David Mauro of Dexter, William and wife Ania Bingham of Atlanta, GA, Charles Bingham of Dexter, and Sharon Bingham and husband Christopher Varley of Tempe, AZ; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father, Charles Bingham, his mother, Myrtle Hathorne, as well as his sisters Eva Ruth LaDuc, Glorias (Goldie) Panzinni, and Violet Hayes, and by his brother, Milton Bingham.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 23 at 2:00 PM at the VFW Post 4298 on Cedar Street in Dexter.
