Obituary

NEWPORT - Beatrice Arlene Talmadge, 72, died March 31, 2022 at her High Street residence after a long illness. She was born April 12, 1949 in Newport in her grandparent's home on Pleasant Street, a daughter of James and Leona (Buzzell) Adams. She graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1967, and attended college for a year. She worked as a spinner at Eastland Woolen Mill, Wyandotte, and Crowe Rope Industries retiring from Sebasticook Valley Hospital as a data entry specialist. Bea enjoyed a number of outdoor activities, spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren, occasionally feeding them ice cream for breakfast. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hartland. She is survived by a sister, Sarah Giuffreda of Green Valley, AZ; a brother, James Adams of Plymouth; son, Brian Bishop and wife Joyce of Plymouth; 2 daughters, Mary Bishop, Christine Greeenlaw and husband Roger, all of Newport; grandchildren Zachary Talmadge, Treasure Ricker, Sarah Greenlaw, and Grace Bishop; a great grandchild Wynntor Merritt. She was predeceased by [parents] Baby Adams (1948), her husband of 30 years, the Rev. Charles Talmadge, grandchildren Brittney and Peter Price and Joshua Bishop. Thank you to the Northern Light Hospice Team, Kim Newbury - SVH Palliative Care, Amanda Hardy, RN (nurse extraordinaire), Valerie Morse, Marie Munson, Dorothy Eldridge, who helped care for mom along the way; and the Hartland Baptist Church family for their support over the years. A celebration of life will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, April 23rd at the First Baptist Church of Hartland. Spring graveside committal services will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
