NEWPORT - Bonita (Bowley) Brushwein, 65, passed away January 11, 2023 at her residence after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 4, 1957 in Bangor a daughter of Edwin and Myra (Woodman) Bowley. Bonnie, as she was known to most, is survived by her husband of 42 years, Robert; 2 daughters, Carrie Brushwein, and Heidi Gardner and husband Jake; 3 grandchildren, Ethan Dunbar, Emily Dunbar and Holly Gardner; 2 sisters, Farilyn and husband Frank Van Cleef and Edwina Soule. Bonnie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved being on the lake in the boat as well as swimming. Bonnie enjoyed many crafts, crocheting, zentangle, and diamond paintings. Her log home on the lake was the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. She enjoyed sitting by the campfire with family and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, January 21st, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport with the Rev. Jack Williams officiating. Spring burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newport.
