Brenda Lugene Mitchell Boone of Dixmont, Maine, was caught up to her Saviour's Arms on Jan. 22, 2022, while her husband held her hand. Brenda was born on June 30, 1957, in Orlando, FL.
After moving to Alaska as a baby, she lived in Pennsylvania, Germany, Arizona, and back to Alaska in 1969. She worked at the Anchorage Daily Times when she graduated in 1975 from Anchorage Christian Schools. In 1977, Brenda married her high school sweetheart, Timothy Boone. They soon settled in Dixmont, where she worked in the accounting department at the Viner Shoe Company until they closed. She then attended Husson College. Shortly after graduating with a degree in accounting, she began her long career in the accounting department at the Bangor Daily News.
Brenda's kind and caring disposition endeared her to many. She loved music and played her flute in worship services at East Dixmont Community Church, where her husband is pastor. She has joined the great Orchestra in Heaven, where she is worshiping with a new flute.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 45 years, Timothy Boone; parents, Ben and Grace Mitchell; sister, Patricia Hegel and husband, David; brother, Tom Mitchell and wife, Sandra; sister-in-law, June Mitchell; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Steve.
A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 30, 2022, at East Dixmont Community Church, 34 Church Hill Rd., Dixmont, ME 04932. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
