Bruce W. Glidden, 79, died on March 11, 2025. He was born on October 15, 1945, in Dexter, ME to William and Phyllis M. Glidden (Knowles). He married Joanne E. Glidden (Hersey) December 25, 1976, in Dexter, ME. Bruce retired from Fay Scott as a machinist and worked at the local Hannafords' doing a wide variety of jobs. Bruce loved spending time with his beloved pets both tame and wild. He had a soft spot for all his grandchildren and enjoyed facetiming with them all. He was quick to laugh and always instigated the Christmas wrapping paper fight! Bruce enjoyed all things on the internet; shopping, games, reading, and social media posting. He enjoyed playing Yahtzee, driving and admiring old cars, listening to country music, watching old western movies, and ATVing. Bruce is predeceased by his parents, William, and Phyllis Glidden of Ripley, ME, and his sister, Jeanette Clukey (Glidden). Bruce is survived by his spouse of 48 years, Joanne Glidden of Dexter, ME; his children, Diane Glidden and Husband, Bernard Stickney of Mars Hill, ME; Bill Glidden of Fredericksburg, VA; Jeremy Glidden and spouse, Nadine, of Augusta, ME; and Christopher Glidden and spouse, Allison, of Olympia, WA; his sister, June Clukey and husband, James, of Ripley, ME; Bruce is survived by his 9 (Newman, Keegan, Quinten, Brittany, Lexie Kayla, Emerson, Eleanor, Theodore) grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren (Marshall, Sawyer, Kara), and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. A small graveside service will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, ME on May 17, 2025 at 1:00pm for immediate family and friends with a gathering afterwards at 39 Bryant Road, Dexter ME.
