CORINTH - Carlson O'Bar, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 30, 2020 after many years of health problems and complications stemming from COVID-19. Known to many as "Obie", Carlson was born August 27, 1939 in Prospect, CT, a son of Frank and Georgia (Corey) O'Bar. They moved to Maine when he was 5 years old. A talented and respected diesel mechanic for decades, Carlson was extremely skilled in many ways and could build, repair, or renovate almost anything. This year he enjoyed "surpervising" his son Ronnie's building project and helping his wife Elaine design their new home. Carlson also volunteered with the Corinth Fire Department and drove the ambulance for many years. He loved hosting gospel music nights at his home and loved to bring music to nursing homes. He loved going to church and Bible study every time the doors were open. He also enjoyed fishing and spending time in his garage rebuilding and tinkering on vehicles. For the past 17 years, Carlson looked forward to spending winters in Florida with Elaine and time with their good friends there. Carlson loved his wife with all his heart. He loved his kids and grandkids very much, and his wish was always that all would serve the Lord and meet him in heaven one day. Carlson also loved his dog Henry very much, and Henry loved sitting on his lap or on the back of Carlson's chair. He will be greatly missed by all of us, especially Elaine, but we know that one day soon we will be reunited in Heaven, and today he is being held in the arms of Jesus. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Elaine (Rockwell); he is survived by daughter Cheryl and husband Ronnie Goldsmith; son Jeff and wife Rhonda O'Bar; son Dennis and wife Sandra O'Bar; daughter Shelley O'Bar and partner Lisa; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and Henry. He was predeceased by 5 brothers, Calvin, Cecil, Carroll, Carey and Clyde; his first grandchild Tiffanie Goldsmith; and dear friends Alton and Connie Crosby.
