Obituary

PALMYRA - Carol Heskett, 78, wife of Gerald "Jerry" Heskett died at her home on July 13, 2022 after a long illness. She was born November 2, 1943, in Providence, RI, the daughter of Ted and Blanche (Parkman) Degerstrom. Carol graduated from Milo High School. She was married to her husband Jerry for 58 years. They were an Air Force family which gave them an opportunity to travel and live in many places. She cherished her family and enjoyed family reunions throughout her life. Carol's lifelong art was crafting, and she was a master crafter. She loved to create everything from miniatures, dolls and was an outstanding quilter. They were her gift of love to share her artistry with family and friends. She and her husband enjoyed traveling together, whether traveling across the country or attending a craft show or yard sale. If she were asked to sum up the importance of life in a word, she would say "Joy". She always looked for joy in her life. Carol is survived by her husband Gerald; son Tom and wife Lisa and their son Devin of Topsham, son Bill of Fishkill, New York, and son Jeff of Palmyra; grandson Tom, II and his wife Robyn and their two children, Alex and Raven; 2 sisters and their husbands, Debby and Dwight Brewer of Brunswick and Janice and Urban Clukey of Dexter; 3 brothers Jim and wife Pat Degerstrom of Kissimmee, FL, Ed and wife Debby Degerstrom of Fredericksburg, VA, and Don of Houston, TX. Carol was predeceased by her daughter Julie in 1995, as well as her brothers Ted and Eric Degerstrom. A family gathering is planned for a future date. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
