HARTLAND - Carol Rowe, 78, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, November 26, 2021 at the Sanfield Rehabilitation and Living Center in Hartland, following a battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Carol was born April 17, 1943, a daughter of the late James and Gladys (Worster) O'Brien. She grew up in Waterville and graduated from Waterville High School. Shortly after graduating she married Wilbur Rowe on November 23, 1963 and made their home on the family homestead in Palmyra. She was employed for many years at Edwards Systems Technology in Pittsfield, serving as an inspector for the fire smoke detector and fire alarm products. After retiring from Edwards Corporation, Carol worked at the Walmart in Palmyra for a few years. Carol and Wilbur purchased a motor home and enjoyed retirement together spending time in Florida. Due to Wilbur's health and later passing, she moved to her quaint apartment at the Hartland Manor where she enjoyed the residents. Carol moved in 2020 to Sanfield where she was loved and cared for while battling Alzheimer's Disease.
She enjoyed random rides to see the sights, and crossword puzzles. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hartland. Best known for her kind heartedness, Carol loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by 2 sisters, Pauline Richards and Jeannett Kennedy; 5 children, Roxanne and husband Wayne Brooks, Stephen, Sr. and wife Martha Rowe, Dawn and husband Glenn Lewis, Ronald and wife Lorna Rowe, and Randel Rowe; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carol was predeceased by her husband, brother Robert "Bob" O'Brien and her dear grandson, Stephen Rowe, Jr.
Carol was loved and respected by all who knew her. Honoring her wishes, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. www.Act.alz.org./donate.
A special thank you to the entire staff at Sanfield and at Maine General Homecare and Hospice.
