NEWPORT - Carroll Glenn Leavitt, 84, died July 5, 2020 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born October 7, 1935 in Dover-Foxcroft. He was predeceased by his parents Harry and Grace (Dunn) Leavitt, formerly of Palmyra. He married the love of his life, Carol Sue (Dunton) Leavitt on November 16, 1963, and she predeceased him on February 19, 2015. Carroll worked at Snowflake Canning Company, Penobscot Poultry, Hartland Tannery and retired in 2008 from Nokomis Regional High. He enjoyed coaching little league and enjoyed playing basketball, golf and working. His favorite pastime was spending time with his grandchildren and puttering around his yard. Carroll is survived by 1 son, Rocky Leavitt & Rebecca Nash of Palmyra; 4 daughters, Marilyn Hight and husband Randy of Hartland, Joanne and husband David Henderson of Corinna, Judy Thody of Palmyra, Jacqueline and husband David Wilson of Bowerbank; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; a sister, Patricia Holt of Oakland; 5 brothers, Harry Jr., Earl, Galen, Harlen, Howard. He was predeceased by a sister, Leola Moody and a brother Linwood. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
