Cheryl R. Evans Obituary (1951

NEWPORT & ETNA--Cheryl R. Evans, 56, died August 13, 2007 at a hospice in Savannah, Georgia. She was born July 5, 1951 at Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of Chester "Lemmie" and Edith (Dufault) Evans. She graduated from Nokomis Regional High in Newport and had been employed as a certified nurses aide in several assisted living communities in Maine and Florida. She had been employed at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, FL and is currently employed as a CNA at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, GA. Cheryl was an active volunteer with Breast Cancer Awareness programs in Maine and Florida. She will be remembered for her love of travel and for the pleasure she took in spending time with her dear family. She is survived by a son Christopher and wife Holly Conant of Dallas, Texas; 2 brothers, Neil and wife Janet, and Kevin Evans, all of Newport; 4 sisters, Beatrice and husband Edward Bowman of Burnham, Marilyn and husband Edward Ouellette of Orono, Barbara Pierce of Florida, and Andrea and husband Jack Heckel of Collins, Georgia; brother-in-law, Mark Kennedy of Ludiwicci,GA. She was predeceased by her parents and a sister, Cynthia Kennedy. At her request there will be no visitation. Graveside committal services will be held 2 PM Friday, August 31st, at the family lot, Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with the Reverend Dr. Joseph Samai officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan B. Komen for the Cure, 505 LBJ Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport.
