Obituary

DEXTER - Cheryl Tremblay passed away Monday November 25, 2019 at Mayo Regional Hospital after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She is the beloved wife of Norman Tremblay. She was predeceased by a brother John Getchell; sister Gail Robinson; and stepson Robert Tremblay. She was born July 20, 1946 in Westbrook to Robert and Dorothy (Shirley) Getchell. She graduated from Guilford High School and was an administrative assistant at Dexter Shoe Company. Cheryl was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them: Tara (Dellaire) Grotten of Monroe, Corey Dellaire of Kennebunk, Jamie and Randy Dellaire, both of Florida. Words can't describe her love for her grandchildren: Ashley (Dellaire) Breen, daughter of Randy, Justin Dellaire, son of Randy, and Zack Palm, stepson of Randy; Zack Leo, son of Tara; Aiden , son of Corey; and Tyler, son of Jamie. She was an auntie to her brother's children: Jennie and Vanessa Getchell brought joy to her heart and was one of the things she cherished - and continued to their children Ava Grace and Brayson, children of Jennie and Payson, and Kinsley, children of Vanessa. On July 13, 1985, Margie and David Garrison stood by our side when we were married, and over the years until this day they are still standing by our side. It's hard to put into words how you feel about someone but I know they knew they were and still are one of the most important part of our lives and we thank God for that. We can never thank all the people that have done so much for us. At the top of the list is her aunt Billie Smith and her daughter May Ann Smith who for the last few months have almost daily checked on our needs, shopping, staying with her when I had to leave, or anything else that we needed done. We could count on them 24-7; her brother Rick and wife Becky Getchell- There aren't words to express our love for them. They would go to the ends of the earth for us and at times they have. Connie, Diane and Bob Early who for years have always been there for her, have spent time and travelled to be with her this past year, which gave her comfort on days that were hard for her. Her sister in law Barbara and husband Raymond Morse have helped us more times than I can remember. We will be forever thankful to have them in our lives. Phone calls and visits from dear friends in Florida brought comfort when needed. Thanks to Jean Arsonson and Elizabeth Depalo. Prayers and visits from family Scott and Annie Wilhite; prayers and calls from dear friends Seldon and Mary Wheeler; visits by brother in law Kent Dellaire and cousin Sandra Robinson meant a lot to us and gave her comfort; Kellie Lunetta who did her hair weekly, sometimes under difficult circumstances but was always there and did it; Holly Sinclair's perm at home-difficult but did it; Laurie Moore's daughter in law: visits and homemade fudge: one of the only things she craved; Sherry Sing, daughter in law: calls and flowers; grandson Tyler's mother brightened her day; calls and visit Aunt Leta Dearborn, peaceful feelings from family. Best of care: Marcia, Hospice RN, Hospice ladies, Lori Towne, home visit FNP: above and beyond. Mayo Regional Hospital: no where better. Bless caring neighbors, Fairway Knolls, Dexter. At peace with her Savior. No committal service now: Spring 2020. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
