Cheryl Williams (Garnett) of Newport, born July 30, 1967 in Unity, passed away unexpectedly on November 16, 2025.
Cheryl is predeceased by her parents, Shelia and Malcolm Bournival Sr., and her brother, Malcolm Bournival Jr.
She leaves behind her beloved children: James Garnett and his wife Felicia of Detroit, Adam Shorey of Oregon, and her daughter Danielle Shorey of Bangor. She is also survived by her sister, Lorrie Smith, and her husband Ryan Smith of Hartland, her brother, James Garnett of Southern Maine, her many special nieces and nephews, and her cherished grandchildren Kaimi, Morgin, Dahlia, and little Christopher. Cheryl also held a special place in her heart for her aunt and uncle, Joyce and Perley Sanborn of Freedom.
Cheryl had a tremendous heart, full of love, acceptance, and generosity. Throughout her life, from Maine to the West Coast, she formed deep connections and "adopted" many people as her own welcoming them as sisters, brothers, children, and grandchildren.
Cheryl lived with a bold spirit and an unforgettable spark. She embraced life with a fearless sense of fun, a quick laugh, and a personality that filled any room she walked into. Whether playing bingo, working on puzzles or diamond art, or spending time with her grandson Christopher — her greatest joy — she brought energy and light to those around her.
Above all, Cheryl adored her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.
