Fred Hickey, Jr., 77, died June 1, 2020 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born October 3, 1942 in Lincoln, a son of Frederick and Gwendolyn (Brinson) Hickey, Sr. Fred graduated from the University of Maine at Farmington with a Degree in Education. He taught school for many years at Eastland School in Corinna. Fred was a longtime member and former chief of the Newport Fire Department retiring due to failing health. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Whitman) Hickey of Newport; a son, John Hickey of Orono; a sister, Brenda and husband Andrew Davis of The Villages, Florida. A private burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
