Christopher "Moose" Lewis Lindsey, 67, of Newport, Maine, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 5, 2025. He was born in Barre, Massachusetts, in 1957 to the late Rev. Kenneth & Marguerite Lindsey. He attended Calais Regional High School, class of 1976, before graduating from the University of Maine, in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science (child development/family relations). During his career he was a devoted public servant. Chris recently retired after 39 years service to the Maine State Department of Health and Human Services. He also devoted more than 30 years as a member of the Newport Fire Department. He also served on the Bishop's committee at St Martin's Episcopal Church, Palmyra, ME.
Christopher met the love of his life at Camp Bishopwood as a young teenager. In August of 1978, he married Debra Ann Laliberte, of Lewiston. Together they established their forever home in Newport, where they raised their son, Bryan and daughter, Teasa. Together they enjoyed traveling to the coast where Chris would take beautiful photographs of Maine. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, they will forever miss their "Papa".
He is survived by his wife, Debra Lindsey of Newport, ME; son and his wife, Bryan and Jennifer Lindsey of Litchfield, ME; daughter and her husband, Teasa and Dave Wilkens of Concord, NH; grandchildren, Erik & Ethan Dodge, Everett, Emmon & Edge Lindsey, and Danika & Wyatt Wilkens; many nieces, nephews, and cousins located throughout New England.
Following cremation, a Memorial service and reception will be held at 5:00p.m. on Friday, May 16, 2025 at St Martin's Episcopal Church, 900 Main St., Palmyra, ME 04965. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Chris' name to Newport Fire Department or St Martin's Episcopal Church
