Clinton R. Tilton DEXTER – Clinton Ray Tilton, 82, died August 10, 2023 at his residence. He was born October 26, 1940 in Old Town a son of George and Dorothy (McGray) Tilton. He graduated from Higgins Classical Institute, Class of 1959, and served in the U. S. Army for 3 years. Clinton graduated from Beal Business College and graduated from Husson College with a business management degree. He worked at Dexter Shoe Company for 36 years, retiring as plant manager of warehouse #8. Clinton was known as "Papa Tilton" to the players and community as he followed his grandson's sports career. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at his camp in Atkinson. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Connie (Reynolds) Tilton; a son, Christopher and granddaughter Lilly; a daughter, Anne Miller, husband Robert and grandson Brayden; a brother, Roger Tilton; and a sister, Brenda Cooley. He was predeceased by a brother, Larry Tilton and a brother in law, Robert Cooley. A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 P.M. Saturday, August 26th, 2023 at his daughter's home, 229 Crockett Road, Dexter. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
