Obituary

DEXTER - Corinne L. (Crosby) Neal, 94, passed away peacefully December 9, 2022 at her daughter Sheila's house surrounded by family. She was born July 17, 1928 in Dexter, a daughter of Elwin and Grace (Tario) Crosby. Corinne graduated from N.H. Fay High School in Dexter where she met and married her high school sweetheart, A. Maurice Neal. They were married for 72 wonderful years. Corinne was very active in the Dexter community. When her girls were home, she became a scout leader. She was also very active in the Dexter Kiwanis Club, Dexter Sunshine Club, and the GFWC/Dexter Women's Literary Club. Many people knew Corinne for her amazing cooking from her restaurant The Dexter Cafe. She was always seen around town happily volunteering her time along with her husband Maurice. Corinne enjoyed painting, crocheting, and knitting; especially making baby sweaters and dish cloths for everyone and anyone who would enjoy them. She also enjoyed the times when she traveled to Nagaland to see her grandson's wedding, and to Great Britain. In later years, Corinne and Maurice lived in Washington where she worked baking for a busy restaurant. They volunteered their time with Habitat for Humanity, as well as taking several mission trips to Nicaragua where their daughter Sheila and her husband Steve were serving as missionaries. In 1991 they moved back home to Dexter. She was actively involved in church life wherever she lived. In her final years she came back to the First Baptist Church of Dexter where she began her faith journey. She loved her church family and was loved in return. Corinne loved life, and those that knew her will always remember her laugh. Corinne is survived by four children, a daughter Sheila Heneise and her husband Steve of Dexter, a son Peter Neal and his wife Laura of Bangor, a daughter Nina Speed and her husband David of Carmel, and a daughter Wanda Weymouth and her husband Jerry of Abbot. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Maurice, her sister Shirley, and her brother Alton. A funeral will be held 11 A.M. Friday, December 16, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Dexter with Pastor Andrew Bermudez officiating. A reception will follow at the church. Spring burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Donations in memory of Corinne may be made to the First Baptist Church of Dexter, P O Box 573, Dexter, ME 04930. Arrangements by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
