Obituary

PALMYRA - Cindy Breton, 71, passed away December 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 8, 1947 in Waterville. She graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1966 and graduated from Kennebec Valley Technical College, Class of 1996 after raising her 4 children. As her family was her heart, she worked from home for 16 years as a licensed day care provider. In doing so, she was able to be a homemaker and full time mother to her children. Another important part of Cindy's life was her love of education. At the time she was running her day care, she enrolled in college at KVTC, where she proudly earned a double major in Automated Office Technology. She also had the pleasure of graduating with her older daughter, which was a great honor to her. She is survived by her sons Danny Hann II, Tony York and wife Deb; daughters Jennifer (Hann) Welch and husband Alfred "Bub" Welch III, Katrina Giles and boyfriend Jim LaPointe; grandchildren, Joshua, Tyler, Kayla, Alison, Alex, Jewel, Anna, Samantha, Dillan, Travis and Tara; her longtime companion Joseph "Joe" Carbone and her best friend Danny Hann Sr.: all of whom she loved with all her heart. She also had great grandchildren which all put a sparkle in her heart and filled her with joy. Cindy especially enjoyed spending time with her family and watching the grandkids grow. She loved to cook for family and bake goodies for the grandchildren. She often spent time sewing and creating oil paintings for family and friends. Two of her personal passions were her love of the Smile. She always had a smile on her face and tried to help others feel happy. Every year she promoted "World Smile Day" in any way to put a smile on a person's face. Her second passion was her group of friends in the Red Hat Society, of which she was a proud member. Spring interment will be in the Palmyra Village Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
