NEWPORT - David William Higgins, 73, died December 5, 2022 at a Bangor hospital. He was born November 16, 1949 in Fort Fairfield, a son of Roy Higgins and Patricia (Donnelly) Higgins Legare. He graduated from Coventry High School, Class of 1967, in Coventry, CT. David proudly served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam war. He worked in steel manufacturing for over 30 years in CT and OH. He returned to Maine after retirement. He is survived by his sister Sue and husband Paul Prior of Limerick, a brother Don and wife Denise Higgins of Jackson; a sister Kim Marchand of Danielson, CT, a sister in law Jocelyne Higgins of Enfield, CT; 2 aunts, Joyce Banks of South Windsor, CT and Donna Nath of Solon, IA; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jack and Peter. A family gathering will be held to celebrate his life. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal.
