ETNA - David Rogers, 81, died November 3, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. He was born May 13, 1938 in Taunton, MA, a son of Joseph and Anna (Duarte) Rogers. David was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (M.I.T.). He owned and operated several restaurants throughout his career. He also served in the National Guard. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking and spending time with his wife Mary. He was a 50 year member of Benevolent Lodge Masons and American Legion Post 107, both of Carmel. He was also a member of the High Street Congregational Church in Newport.
In addition to his wife of 16 years, he is survived by his daughter Stephanie and husband Michael Chaves of FL, daughter in law Vickie Bulko of NC; and step children Jen and husband Paul Davis of FL, Kevin and wife Theresa Grant of CO, Melissa and husband Jeremy Woolard of IN; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Stacie, David, Michael, Chris, Emily, Amber, Grace, Andrew, Rachel and Daniel; 3 great grandchildren, Jesse, Traci, and Eli; and 1 great great grandson Dominic. David was predeceased by his brother Joseph, 2 sisters, Delores and Roselena and his son David.
Memorial services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, November 9t,, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with the Rev. Ernie Campbell officiating. A Masonic service will be held at 7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Carmel. Memorial donations may be made to High Street Congregational Church, 18 High Street, Newport, ME 04953.
