PALMYRA & HARTLAND - David Whitten, 72, died January 14, 2021 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Togus. He was born March 18, 1948 in Hartland, a son of LeRoy and Mary Ellen (Nichols) Whitten. David graduated from Hartland Academy and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. David was employed at Hardwick Fence and Bouffard Fence Company, and as a silversmith at C.M. Almy Company in Pittsfield for 28 years.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl (Hall) Whitten of Palmyra; a son, Theodore "T.J." and wife Valerie Whitten, and their children, Jayde, Meagan and Olivia; 3 daughters, Belinda Whitten and daughters Chandra and Samantha, and Samantha's children, Nikoli, Isabelle and Benjamin; Jennifer and step-children Madison, Little Jay and Eva; Victoria, husband Michael and son David.
He was predeceased by 3 sisters, Rowena Staples, Barbara Morse and Susan Robinson.
There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
