Obituary

BANGOR - Dean Francis Clukey, 83, died September 23, 2019. He was born January 4, 1936 in Dexter, a son of Bernard and Louise (Mossman) Clukey. He graduated from Dexter schools in 1954 and served in the United States Air Force. He received his B.S. degree from Ricker College in 1979. Dean served in the Maine State Police from 1962 to 1986 retiring as Captain of Troop F in Houlton. He served for a time as administrator of the Aroostook County Correctional Facility. Dean also served as a state representative and later, in the Maine State Senate. A devoted Catholic, Dean was also a member of the Rotary Club and the Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife Donna (Wark) Clukey of Bangor; a son, Kendall of Houlton; 2 daughters, Kelly and husband Peter Ellis of Veazie, Kimberly and husband John Jenkins of Houlton; a brother, David and wife Linda of Dexter; 8 grandchildren, Duska, Danielle, Chelsy, Wyatt, Dakota, Logan, Sam, and Sydney; 3 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Richard. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. Saturday, September 28th at St. Anne's Church, Dexter. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter. Those who wish may contribute in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 U. S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
