Obituary

GARLAND - Delia Agnes Dyer, 95, died January 8, 2023 at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital surrounded by her family and friends. Mrs. Dyer was born October 6, 1927 in Dexter, a daughter of Andrew and Marion (Richards) Martin. She was the oldest of 16 children. Agnes attended the Carr School in Dexter. She left school at an early age to help care for the younger children. In her teen years she worked for Mame York's boarding house in Dexter. It was at the boarding house that she would meet her future husband. She was employed at Dexter Shoe Company from 1958 to 1984 when she retired. Upon retirement Agnes opened her home to boarders until her mid eighties. Agnes loved to read about nutrition and current events. She loved to cook, feed and care for others. She is survived by 2 daughters, Veronica Jean Keaton of MA and Mary Marion and husband Jose Montero of Gore, VA; 2 sisters, Nellie and Gertrude; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was married to Perley Joseph Dyer who predeceased her. She was also predeceased by her 2 sons, Percy Andrew Dyer and Victor James Dyer; 2 daughters in law Marilyn Ann (Johnson) and Beverly Cummings; 4 brothers; 7 sisters; and many friends. Friends may call from noon Thursday, January 12th, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter, where funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. with the Rev. Scott Millett officiating. Spring burial will be in the Greeley Cemetery, Garland.
