BANGOR, HOULTON and DEXTER – Donna Clukey, 82, died May 20, 2023. She was born in Plymouth February 17, 1941 to parents Irene Fletcher Wark and Herbert J. Wark. After graduating from Dexter High School in 1959, she worked briefly at Fay Scott before marrying and embarking on her greatest passion in life, becoming wife and mother to 3 children. Donna loved being a homemaker and enjoyed nothing more than having her family gather to enjoy the lavish meals that she prepared. She was famous for her lasagna, yeast rolls, chocolate chip cookies, and peanut butter chocolates. Donna began her career outside of the home later in life as a secretary for Hatfield, Randall Associates in Houlton. She later began working for the Houlton School District as an educational technician, and then as secretary to the Dept. of Special Education until her retirement. Along the way, she made many friends who became like family to her. Grammy Clukey's greatest joy in life was spoiling her beloved grandchildren, Duska Britton, Danielle Kissinger, Chelsy Sewell, Wyatt Jenkins, Dakota Jenkins, Logan Cyr-Ellis, Sydney Ellis, and Sam Ellis. Donna was predeceased by her husband of nearly 60 years, Dean Clukey, her parents, and brothers Herbert, Stanley, Richard, and Gerald. She is survived by three children; a son, Kendall Clukey of Houlton, and two daughters, Kelly Ellis and husband Peter of Veazie, and Kimberly Jenkins, and husband John of Houlton. She also leaves brother-in-law David Clukey and wife Linda of Dexter, sister-in-law Virginia Wark of Sangerville, 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Donna valued time spent with her family and friends tremendously. She loved to laugh and always had the ability to create an atmosphere filled with fun and laughter, forming unforgettable memories for all who loved her. A funeral service outside of Mass will be held at 2 P.M. Friday, May 26th, at St. Anne's Church, Dexter, with Deacon David Denbow officiating. Burial will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 U. S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
