CORINNA - Doris "Dodie" Wintle, 94, passed away August 15, 2018 at a Dexter nursing home. Doris was born June 13, 1924 in St. Albans, Maine, the eldest daughter of Leland and Kathleen (Bubar) Randall. She attended school in St. Albans and graduated from Corinna Union Academy in 1941. In October of 1941 she married Kenneth Wintle and they had five sons. The family lived in St. Albans, Charleston and Corinna. Doris' boys were a great joy to her and she loved watching their families grow. While raising her children, Doris also worked outside the home in various jobs, including as a weaver at the Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna. After she retired, Doris enjoyed her time with friends and family in both Maine and Florida. Throughout her life, Doris was a woman of great strength, determination and love. She was a member of the Corinna Union Academy Alumni Association and attended the Corinna United Methodist Church.
Doris had a strong love for her family. She is survived by her sister Glennie Willette and husband Dick of Corinna, her sons and their wives; Larry and Barbara of St. Albans, Paul and Darlene of Pittsfield, Peter and Susan of Exeter, and Dennis and Joanne of Apopka, Florida. She was also extremely proud of her thirteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Doris was predeceased by her parents, her sister Millie Buckland and husband John, her son Ronnie, and her husbands Kenneth Wintle and Russ Beerman.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks to everyone who helped care for Doris over the past eight years, especially the staff at Dexter Health Care. They would also like to thank Susan Farnsworth for her continued friendship and support.
Due to an illness in the family, funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, September 6th at the Corinna United Methodist Church with the Rev. Michelle St. Cyr officiating. Friends may call at the church from 10 A.M. until the time of services. Burial will follow at the Morses Corner Cemetery, Corinna.
