NEWPORT - Edith Bowen, 99, died January 27, 2021 at a Dexter health care facility. She was born October 12, 1921 in Exeter, a daughter of Albert and Hattie (Kelley) Curtis. Edith was employed at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna for 25 years and assisted in home health care for the elderly for 14 years. She attended the High Street Church in Newport.

Edith is survived by a son, Harry Mooers and wife Ruby of Newport; 4 daughters, Phyllis Lawler and Dianna Temple, both of Newport, Marion White and Avis LeClaire, both of Dexter; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Milton; 2 sons, Miles and Willis; 2 daughters, Nancy and Betty; and all of her brothers and sister.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, February 4th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Due to CDC guidelines attendees are limited to 50 people at a time. Face covering and social distancing are required. Spring burial will be in the Chamberlain Cemetery, Exeter.
