BENTON & THORNDIKE - Edna Marie (Flewelling) Bither Pottle, 94, died June 9, 2022 at a Waterville nursing home. She was born April 19, 1928 in Houlton, a daughter of Benjamin and Elva (Foster) Flewelling. She worked at the Freedom Canning Factory and then was secretary at Bither's Garage she operated with her first husband Forrest Bither. Edna retired as secretary at the Muskie Center in Waterville. She was a member of the Fireman's Auxiliary in Thorndike.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Sheryl and husband Norman Vashon, Sr. of Thorndike, Kimberly Sue and husband Stanley Parker of North Berwick; 1 brother, David Flewelling of Frankfort; 3 sisters, Gloria Perkins of Holden, Janet and husband Donald Zimmerman of Georgia, Frances and husband Vaughn Thibodeau of Winterport; 4 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her second husband Clifford Pottle, 3 brothers Benjamin, Philip and Richard Flewelling, and sister Betty Palmer.
Private burial will be in the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery next to her first husband Forrest. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
