Obituary

Edwin "Ed" Burleigh, Sr. CORINNA - Edwin "Ed" Albert Burleigh, Sr., 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at a Bangor Hospital. He had been battling a late diagnosis of aggressive cancer. Ed was born December 29, 1950 in Belfast to Lawrence and Dorothy (Kenney) Burleigh, the youngest of 3 siblings. After Ed graduated from Nokomis Regional High in Newport, he and his first wife, Constance Dyer, had their first son, Edwin Albert Burleigh, II in 1969. After a short time working in the woods with his father, Edwin had a long career in the food and beverage sales industry. In 1977 Ed married his second wife Linda Randall and they had a son, Garrett Burleigh. In 2015 Ed retired from Portland Housing Authority where he had spent the last 19 years of work as a housing inspector. He moved back to Corinna to help take care of his parents and lived in Sunshine Village until his passing. Over the years Ed enjoyed watching The New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed playing golf, playing cards, spending time with family and enjoyed making others laugh and telling jokes. He was an active member of the Windham and Portland Eagles Club for many years. He was also a Mason and a member of the Kora Shrine. He is survived by his sons Edwin and Garrett; grandsons Sean-Michael Burleigh and Jack Burleigh, girlfriend Rochelle Romero, both former wives and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents and a sister Diane. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, October 7, 2022 at the Morses Corner Cemetery in Corinna. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriners Children's Hospital, an organization Edwin would be pleased to support. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal.
