Elaine Marie Leavitt Obituary (1959

NEWPORT & EXETER - Elaine Marie Leavitt, 53, died January 22, 2013 at a Bangor hospital following a battle with cancer. She was born June 15, 1959 in Dexter, a daughter of Benjamin Franklin and Helen Marie (Bishop) Leavitt. She graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1977. Elaine fought ovarian cancer for 4 years. She had been employed as a certified nurses aide at St. Joseph Hospital in Bangor. She will be remembered as a loving, caring person who always helped others, both inside and outside of work. She is survived by 2 sisters, Christine and Lorraine Leavitt, both of Dexter; a step-brother, Richard Leavitt of Ripley; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Helen Leavitt, on September 2, 2012. A memorial service will be held 1:30 P.M. Monday, January 28th, at the Chapel of St. Joseph Hospital, 360 Broadway, Bangor, with the Rev. Fr. Roland Nadeau presiding. Spring interment will be at Exeter Center Cemetery.
