NEWPORT & DIXMONT-Ellen Cabral, 79, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 8, 2022 with family by her side. She was born October 20, 1943 in Arlington, Massachusetts to John and Ruth (Stanley) Collins. In 1964, Ellen married the love of her life, James D. Cabral, who predeceased her.
Ellen was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, crocheting, and traveling. She was a past member of the St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Palmyra.
Ellen is survived by four daughters, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Joanne Morrison and her three children, Carissa and husband Tim, and their two children, Briar and Rhys, Megan and husband Edward, Sean and wife Emilee, and their two sons, Baylen and Thaddeus; Susan Swenson and husband Dennis, their daughter Savannah and husband Christian, and their daughter, Lilianna; Cynthia Smith and husband James, and their three daughters, Jordan and husband Russell, and their daughter Makenna, Sierra and her significant other Kurt, and Megan and husband Christopher; and Diane Watson and husband Joseph, and their two sons River and Devon. Ellen is also survived by two brothers Richard and David Collins.
She was predeceased by a sister Patricia Culhane.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 15th, from 4 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Friday. A family graveside service will be held in the spring at the North Newport Cemetery.
