CAMBRIDGE - Elmer L. Folsom, 99, died April 5, 2022 at his residence. He was born April 2, 1923 in Harmony, a son of Frank and Pearl (Magoon) Folsom. He served in the Army during World War II. Elmer graduated from Higgins Classical Institute and the University of Maine with a Master's Degree in Education. He was a school teacher in Dexter, and later worked for the Farmers Home Administration. He also worked most of his life on the family farm until the age of 98. He was a fourth generation dairy farmer in the Town of Cambridge. Elmer received his private pilot's license at the age of 70.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Cambridge.
He is survived by his wife Phyllis (Rogers) Folsom of Cambridge; 4 children, Steven and wife Shirley of Lincoln, Stanley and wife Rose of Guilford, James and wife Shelly of Cambridge, Kathleen and husband Rex Davis of Montana; a twin sister Thelma Camburn of Delaware; a son in law, John Skillin of Cambridge; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 step children, Russell and wife Liz Elliott of Alaska, James Elliott and Delia Elliott, both of Oklahoma. He was predeceased by a daughter Susan Skillin and his first wife Joyce.
Graveside committal services will be held later in the spring at the Cambridge Memorial Garden. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Dexter.
