Obituary

NEWPORT - Errald Turner, 91, died February 8, 2019 at his residence. He was born September 2, 1927 in Pittsfield, a son of Herbert and Carma (Jackson) Turner. He graduated from Newport High School, Class of 1946, and served in the U. S. Navy. He worked at his father's Lakeview Dairy for several decades. He worked at Footman's Dairy, and then Bud's Shop N Save for several more decades. Errald was a member of Meridian Splendor # 49 Masonic Lodge and served as lodge secretary for over 50 years. Errald and his wife Marie were married for 58 years. They enjoyed gardening, square dancing, and went on many bus trips together. In recent years, he was especially proud of his flower and raspberry gardens, and was always happy to go to the coast and get a lobster. He is survived by 2 daughters, Pamela and husband Richard Foster of Bangor, Faye and husband Allen Adams of Glenburn; a brother, Mahlon and wife Eldora Turner, and sister, Elaine Turner, all of Pittsfield; a sister in law, Rowena Turner of Newport; 5 grandchildren, Hydi and husband Rob Prentice, David and wife Andrea Sewall, Levi Sewall, Travis Adams, Ashley and husband Chris Sprague; 10 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 5 to 7 P.M. Friday, February 15th, at Meridian Splendor Lodge, 136 Moosehead Trail, Newport. At his request there will not be a funeral. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Meridian Splendor Lodge # 49, c/o Mr. Doug Brockway, 136 Moosehead Trail, Newport, ME 04953.
