DETROIT - Ethan Allen Kelley, 69, died unexpectedly January 9, 2019 at a Bangor hospital. He was born June 23, 1949 in Presque Isle, a son of Allen and Dorothy (Parsons) Kelley. Ethan graduated from Presque Isle schools and the University of Maine at Orono. He served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam. He retired from the USDA FmHA Farm Service as a loan specialist. He was currently commander of the Corinna Post #73 American Legion, where he also served as vice commander and finance officer. Ethan was also a Selectman for the Town of Detroit, a Little League coach and Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with Steve, Butch and Vic took numerous 4 wheeler trips in the County and enjoyed complaining about "fixing" the camp.
He is survived by his wife, Elsie (Hayden) of Detroit; 2 sons, Eric of Bangor, Evan and wife Heather of Pittsfield; 2 brothers, Mark and wife Ann of Florida, and Lance of North Carolina; 1 aunt Phyllis Kelley Leavitt of Presque Isle; 4 grandchildren, Olivia, William, Aiden and Gabrielle.
A celebration of life will be held at noon Sunday, February 24th, at the Corinna Legion Post, 47 Maple Street, Corinna. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport. Memorial donations may be made to the Corinna Post #73, P. O. Box 1, Corinna, ME 04928.
