DEXTER - Ethel Nettie Fern, 91, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at a Dover-Foxcroft hospital. She was born on July 28,1930 in Dexter to Newell and Esther (Libby) Fern. She graduated from N. H. Fay High School in Dexter and from Gordon College in Boston. After graduation she taught school for several years before going to work for the Department of Health and Human Services as a social worker. Ethel was a lifelong member of the Dexter First Baptist Church where she served faithfully in numerous roles over the years. She leaves many friends there whom she loved and appreciated deeply. Ethel is survived by her brother, Bruce Fern; her sisters, Marian Wood and Jo MacDonald; her sister-in-law, Rosena Fern; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Frances Libby, and Jean Rollins, and her brothers Tom and Ronald Fern. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 19th, at the Dexter First Baptist Church. Spring interment will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Dexter. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, P. O.
