Obituary

DETROIT– George Linwood Lougee, 87, went to be with his Lord on February 15, 2023. He was born January 18, 1936 in Houlton a son of Lauris and Marion (Davidson) Lougee. George was a proud County boy. He loved life and was always active. He graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1953. He went to Boston and trained at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital and Boston Children's Hospital to work in radiology. That is when he met the love of his life Linda. He served in the National Guard. After retirement George and Linda moved to Newport and quickly became part of the community. He served two terms on the board of RSU 19. He was Chairman for the Advisory Board of Sebasticook Valley Credit Union. He was an active member of the Corinna American Legion and served on the Board of Directors of the Sebasticook Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church and actively participated in the building of the church. George also enjoyed golf and the time spent with his golf buddy Garth. In addition to his wife Linda, he is survived by his daughter Michelle Lougee, her husband Keith, and their children Eli and Avery; a step daughter, Cynthia Jaynes; 2 brothers Dana and David and the family; a grandson Chad and wife Megan Jaynes; and his great grandchildren Bryant and Addisyn. A memorial service will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, February 26th at the Cornerstone Baptist Church in Exeter. Memorial donations may be made to the Cornerstone Baptist Church, P. O. Box 131, Levant, ME 04456.
