HARMONY and ATHENS - Idyllene S. Warren, 93, died December 10, 2018 at an Athens assisted living center. She was born October 10, 1925 to George and Evelyn (Gordon) Smith. She loved to be outdoors, skiing and golfing as much as possible. She was an excellent cook, grew her own vegetables and prepared many delicious meals. She also enjoyed traveling to visit her sons and often photographed the places she visited, which included long rides around Maine. Idyllene belonged to various clubs and organizations, especially enjoying time spent with her friends at the Dexter Literary Club and the Ripley Craft Club. She was a past member of the Dexter United Methodist Church. She is survived by her sons, Stephen of Harmony, Edward of Andover, MA; and daughter, Joan Rush of Sangerville; grandchildren, Fiona, Kim, Luke and their families; brother Gerald and wife Elaine Smith of Bridgton; several nieces and nephews. Idyllene was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, sister Jean Rand, brothers Wendell and Gordon Smith, and grandson Christopher. We are grateful tor the extraordinary loving care given to our mother by Tissues Country Estates and Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, December 15th, at Crosby & Neal, 61 Main Street, Dexter. Friends may call from 10 A.M. until the time of services. Spring burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter.
