IRENE V. SAVAGE

STETSON--Irene Violet (Gerry) Savage, 72, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2023 at the Northern Light Mayo Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft at the age of 72. She was born July 25, 1951 in Detroit, a daughter of Lawrence and Doreen (Tucker) Gerry, where she grew up and was referred to as “Beanie” during childhood. She then moved to Stetson in 1971, where she and her husband made their home and raised their family. In January 2023, Irene relocated to the Hibbard Nursing Home where she spent her remaining days.

She was an avid reader (especially a good murder mystery), enjoyed puzzle books, watched detective television, and rode her motorcycle as much as the weather allowed.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Paul Savage of Stetson; her daughter Tammy O’Brien Donohue and husband Shaune Donohue of Black Hawk, SD and her son Brock Savage of Boston, MA; a granddaughter Katlyn O’Brien Donohue of Monrovia, CA; five siblings, Larry Gerry, Sr. of Detroit, Linda Plungy of Corinna, Henry Gerry of Detroit, Rose Pomeroy of Corinna, and Joe Gerry of Detroit; a sister-in-law Kathy Bournival of Newport; along with many nieces, nephews, and their families. She is deeply loved by all and will be greatly missed.

Graveside committal services will be held in the spring at Clark’s Hill Cemetery, Stetson.
