HARMONY - James E. Lawler, 90, passed away peacefully February 26, 2022 at his home in Harmony. By his side were two of his beloved nephews, Marshall Allen and wife Donna, Charles "Bingo" Lawler and wife Amy; and his niece Gail McCarthy.
Jim was born September 10, 1931 in Oakfield, a son of the late Marshall and Virgie (Shorey) Lawler. The family moved to Harmony Labor Day weekend 1939 with 10 children. Jim's parents had 2 more children in Harmony.
Staying on the family farm Jim was a woodsman by trade but at times did work off the farm, proud of the bridges he helped build. But he was always home at night to help take care of his parents until they passed. An avid outdoorsman, he liked hunting, fishing, planting his garden and roaming around the woods.
He was the last of his siblings, but is survived by many nieces and nephews, many of whom stayed with him at the family farm. His door was always open, and although he had no children of his own, he had a hand in raising many.
A committal service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, June 3th at the Wormlight Cemetery in Harmony, with a celebration of life after services at the Lawler Farm. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal.
