DIXMONT - Janet Welch, 87, died October 14, 2021 at a Bangor hospital with family by her side. She was born November 25, 1933 in Millinocket, a daughter of Fred and Valma (Dellaway) McKinley. She graduated from Bangor High School, and married Earl Welch June 1, 1952. They had 3 children, Deborah, Jeffrey and Frank. Janet enjoyed knitting mittens for the children in MSAD 53 and crocheting red, white and blue lap robes for veterans. She was also known as a master at putting 1000 piece puzzles together. She was happiest spending time with her family, especially her great grandsons, that helped keep her young at heart. She loved watching them ride 4 wheelers and dirt bikes through the big fields at her home. She is survived by her daughter Deborah of Bangor, daughter in law Jennifer Welch, grandson Kyle Welch, his wife Samantha and great grandsons, Mason, Brody, and Grayson, all of Dixmont. Janet was predeceased by her husband Earl and 2 sons Jeff and Frank, her sister Alice and brother John. Family and friends are invited to join Jen and her family at her Dixmont home on Saturday, October 30th from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. for a brief service and light lunch. In lieu .of flowers, donations in Janet's memory can be made at Children's Benefit Fund, Warsaw Middle School, 167 School Street, Pittsfield, ME 04967. Private burial will be in the family lot, Dixmont Corner Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
