NEWPORT - Janet M. Woodward, 83, died December 26, 2018 at a Pittsfield hospital. She was born May 2, 1935 in Dexter, a daughter of John and Marjorie (Farr) Mosley. She graduated from N. H. Fay High School and Husson College. Jan was a member of the High Street Congregational Church, the Order of The Eastern Star, and the Barrows-Skidgel Post American Legion Auxiliary. She volunteered with the Sebasticook Valley Hospital Auxiliary, the Sebasticook Valley Community Center and for many years delivered meals for the Meals for ME program. Jan worked for many years at the Edwards Corporation and for the Superintendent of Schools of MSAD # 48. She is survived by 2 daughters, Pam and husband Brad Newcomb of Newport, Kelley and husband David Haskell of Newburgh; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many. She was predeceased by her husband Homer "Woody", son Scott, grandson Patrick and all of her brothers and sisters. Friends may call from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, December 28th, at Crosby & Neal, 117 Main Street, Newport, where funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. Saturday, December 29th, with the Rev. Brian Woodbury officiating. Spring burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Newport Community Food Bank, 26 High Street, Newport, ME 04953.
