DEXTER- Jason "Jay" Mailhot, 50, passed away peacefully at his home in Dexter, Maine, on July 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family.

Jay was born on April 24, 1976, in Manchester, New Hampshire, to Diane and Guy Mailhot.

Jay and the love of his life, Daisy, were married in the garden of their home in Dexter, Maine. Together they shared 25 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on love, family, and friendship. He is survived by his beloved wife, Daisy; his daughter, Rita Mailhot of Oklahoma; his daughter, Mary Bateman, and her husband, Kristopher Bateman; his father, Guy Mailhot of North Stratford, New Hampshire; his sister, Ginette, and her family in New Hampshire and Arizona; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was predeceased by his mother, Diane Mailhot, and his uncle, Real Godbout.In 2016, Jay was baptized and embraced a strong faith that became the foundation of his life. His faith, generosity, and compassion were evident in the way he cared for others.

Jay was self-employed and took great pride in his work, helping people build not only their homes but also lasting friendships. He enjoyed the flexibility his career provided, allowing him to lend a helping hand whenever someone was in need.

A gifted cook and gracious host, Jay found great joy in gathering family and friends around the table. He loved spending time outdoors, working on cars and snowmobiles, and, in recent years, riding his side-by-side on the trails. Many of his favorite adventures were shared with his in-laws from Garland, Maine, his lifelong friend Ross of Penacook, New Hampshire, and countless guests who joined him from near and far. Wherever Jay went, he created memories filled with laughter, kindness, and companionship.

Jay was also a dedicated supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, believing deeply in bringing hope and joy to children facing serious illnesses.

Jay will be remembered for his unwavering faith, generous heart, welcoming spirit, and the love he shared so freely with everyone who was fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the family and friends who were blessed by his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that contributions be made to a meal train established in Jay's memory to support the family during this time.
