NEWPORT - Jeffrey Cowan, 73, died August 6, 2020 at a Pittsfield hospital. He was born August 14, 1946 in Waterville, a son of Foster and Mavis (Spinney) Cowan. Jeff served in the 262nd Engineering Battalion, U. S. Army. Jeff retired from Guilford Industries after 27 years and was self employed for 20 years doing auto body work. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time at hunting camp. He also liked to camp and spend time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Marianne (Henderson) Cowan of Newport; a step daughter Jodi Weymouth and grand daughter Jasmine Morrow, both of St. Albans; a niece, Robin and husband Michael Chase of Palmyra; and a nephew Shawn Hurlburt of Dixmont; a great niece Katelyn Wright of Pittsfield; and 2 great grandchildren, Evan and Greyson. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolee and husband Gailen Hurlburt. There will be no services at this time. Memorial donations may be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 693B Mt. Hope Avenue, Bangor, ME 04401. Cremation arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
