CORINNA - In loving memory of Jerold Burdin, 72, passed peacefully of Covid at Eastern Maine Medical Center January 26, 2021. He was born January 25, 1949 in Skowhegan, son of Malcolm and Eleanor (Luce) Burdin. He served in the U. S. Navy and received an Associate's Degree from Husson College. He worked at WABI TV as a camera man and later worked in retail sales at various pharmacies and stores. While living in Louisville, Kentucky he received an award from the Metro Louisville Police Department for his work with troubled youth. He attended the Pleasant Street Christian Church in Corinna with his wife where he sang and played his guitar. He enjoyed counseling people encouraging them to put more of God in their lives.
Jerry was a member of the Corinna American Legion and the Country Music Association. Country music was a big part of his life playing with the Burdin Family Band, and in Kentucky had his own band called Southern Knights. He enjoyed mostly singing Merle Haggard ballards as well as Christian music. He also enjoyed playing guitar with Raymond Murray, Sr. and daughter Wendy.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Patricia (Humphrey) Burdin of Corinna; a son, Brian Burdin of Boothbay Harbor; 2 daughters, Pamela Acosta of St. Petersburg, FL, and Kristan Salvata of Strong; 3 step daughters, Wendy Murray of Newport, Carol Cray of Hartland, and Sherrie Byler of Worcester, OH; 2 step sons, Steven Murray of Skowhegan, and Raymond Murray III of St. Albans; 2 brothers, Timmy Burdin of Michigan and Jimmy Burdin of Strong; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer when the worst of Covid has hopefully passed. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal.
