GARLAND - Joan Hartford, 81, died December 20, 2021 at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born July 20, 1940 in Dexter a daughter of Maurice and Theda (Ober) Coro. She graduated from Dexter High School, Class of 1958, and Beal's College in Bangor. She had worked at Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna, the Dexter Shoe Company, and worked as a medical secretary at Eastern Maine Medical Center and St. Joseph Hospital. Prior to retirement, Joan also worked part time at the Corinna Town Office. She is survived by two children, Mike Bryson of Corinna and Cindy and husband David Bowman of Auburn; 8 grandchildren, Chris, Amanda, Adam and Nathan Hunt, Heather, Eric and Taylor Bryson, and Cameron Bradbury; 2 great grandchildren, Jenelle Adams and Karter Robinson. Joan was predeceased by her husband Chester "Chet" Hartford, and 3 children, an infant daughter Cindy Lou, Scott and Shelly. Graveside committal services will be held in the spring at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 383 U.S. Route 1; Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
