Joanne A. Buzzell

NEWPORT – Joanne A. Buzzell, 77, passed away on August 29, 2023. Joanne was born August 12, 1946 in Dexter. She was the oldest of three daughters to Ronald Chester Johnson and Charlotte Una Jackson.

Joanne graduated from Lawrence High School in Fairfield, then attended Empire Beauty School to become a hairdresser. She worked a year at Laverdiere’s, then married Barry W. Micue December 23, 1966. Joanne and Barry had two children, Heather Marie and Ronald Ivan. They resided in Skowhegan. Joanne was a stay-at-home mom for a few years. She then went to work at New Balance. They were then divorced. Joanne then married the love of her life, Kenneth R. Buzzell in 1989. They moved to Newport and built their home. She then worked at Edwards in Pittsfield. Joanne and Kenneth liked to go for rides, auctions, tractor shows and most of all enjoyed their family.

She is survived by one sister, Judith Lane, her children and their families. Joanne’s children, daughter Heather, Heather’s children Shaun and Micayla. Son Ronald, Ronald’s children Kesha, Keyanna and Amia. Stepdaughter Felancy Grant, her son Nick (Kailee) Grant, along with their son Emmett and daughter Daegen; also nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside committal service will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, September 6, at the North Newport Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donate to a favorite charity. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
