NEWPORT - Joanne S. Walshe, 89, died peacefully January 19, 2020 at a Bangor hospital surrounded by her family. She was born August 22, 1930 in Corinna, a daughter of Charles and Madeline (Sprague) Shepherd.

She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Bellmore and husband Paul; her son John Treadwell and wife Debra, all of Levant; a special daughter Linda Colangelo of Bangor; a sister Betty Lou Driscoll and husband Jerry of Jensen Beach, FL; step children, Jon Walshe of Corinna, William Walshe of Newport, Kathy Ouellette of Farmingdale, Veronica Pierce and husband Wayne of Boothbay Harbor; 9 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren. "Auntie" always enjoyed visits from Brenda Early, Amy Faircloth and Joe Shepherd and porch sitting with Cora and Lloyd Buzzell. She will also be remembered by the staff and many friends she made at the Maine Veterans Home.

Joanne was predeceased by husbands Robert Neal Treadwell and John Walshe; and brothers John Shepherd and Charles Philip Shepherd.

A special thanks to the Maine Veterans Home in Bangor and to the 6th floor staff at Eastern Maine Medical Center for their care and compassion.

According to her request there will be a graveside funeral and committal service at the Corinna Village Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
