CORINNA - John B. Gilbert, 84, died October 3, 2021 at a Bangor health care facility. He was born August 17, 1937 in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, a son of Leon and Margaret (Heffernan) Gilbert. He graduated from St. John's Cathedral High School and attended Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin at Milwaukee. He served in the U. S. Army from 1956 to 1962. John was employed with General Motors, AC Spark Plug Division, the National Security Agency, Department of Defense, Eastland Woolen Mill in Corinna as the human resources director, and at Lane Systems and Supply.

He is survived by his children, Cynthia and husband Thomas Meyers, and Jeffrey Gilbert, all of Corinna, Mary and Rick Starbird of Corinth, Michele and Barry Robichaud of Lubbock, Texas; his grandchildren, Heidi, Laurel, Heather, Rachel, Joseph, Rickey, Brandon and John; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his grandson Ben, a great grandson Griffin, and his wife Margaret.

Due to Covid, a graveside committal service will be held at the Corinna Center Cemetery in the spring. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
